EquiFit Hind Boot Size Guide

Measuring your horse's hind ankle circumference is the most accurate way to size EquiFit hind boots. If your horse is between sizes, the ankle circumference measurement takes priority over height.

SizeHorse TypeHeight (hands)Ankle Circumference
SmallLarge Pony14.0–14.310.5"–11.25"
MediumSmall Horse15.0–15.311.25"–12"
LargeStandard16.0–16.312"–13"
Extra LargeOversize17+13"–14"
XX-LargeOversize+17+14"–15"

How to measure the ankle
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the narrowest part of the fetlock (ankle) joint, just above the point where the leg meets the hoof. Keep the tape snug but not tight, and level all the way around. Measure both hind legs and use the larger reading.

Between sizes? Choose by ankle circumference first — a boot that fits the ankle protects the joint correctly. Height is a guide only.

Sizing notes: Measurements shown are EquiFit's published hind-boot ranges. This chart covers hind boots and hind-boot replacement liners. Pony-size boots (e.g. MultiTeq, Pony Medal) run smaller than Small. On EquiFit's own chart the XX-Large row is labelled “Extra Extra Large.”

The EquiFit MultiTeq Short Hind Boot brings MultiTeq protection in a shorter profile, with molded coverage and removable liner options.

It suits horses that need secure fetlock protection at a lower boot height across a versatile program.

Best for

  • Shorter-profile hind-leg protection across a program
  • Choice of ImpacTeq or SheepsWool ImpacTeq liner feel
  • Coverage around the fetlock at a lower height

Key features

  • EverLeather® shell — molded for secure, protective coverage.
  • Removable liner options — available with ImpacTeq® and SheepsWool™ ImpacTeq® depending on the variant.
  • Secure strap closure — designed to keep the boot in place through work.
  • Short hind profile — lower-height coverage around the fetlock.

Fit, compatibility & care

  • Fit: Choose the size and configuration that best match the horse’s leg shape and build.
  • Compatibility: Select the boot size, orientation, and liner option that match the horse and intended use. Replacement liners should be matched to the correct boot model, size, and orientation.
  • Care: Remove dirt and debris after use. Remove the liner when cleaning and allow the shell and liner to dry fully before storing.
