EquiFit Front Boot Size Guide

Measuring your horse's front ankle circumference is the most accurate way to size EquiFit boots. If your horse is between sizes, the ankle circumference measurement takes priority over height.

SizeHorse TypeHeight (hands)Ankle Circumference
SmallLarge Pony14.0–14.310"–10.75"
MediumSmall Horse15.0–15.310.75"–11.5"
LargeStandard16.0–16.311.5"–12.25"
Extra LargeOversize17+12.25"–13.25"
XX-LargeOversize+17+13.25"–14.25"

How to measure the ankle
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the narrowest part of the fetlock (ankle) joint, just above the point where the leg meets the hoof. Keep the tape snug but not tight, and level all the way around. Measure both front legs and use the larger reading.

Between sizes? Choose by ankle circumference first — a boot that fits the ankle protects the joint correctly. Height is a guide only.

Sizing notes: Measurements shown are EquiFit's published front-boot ranges. This chart covers front boots and front-boot replacement liners. Pony-size boots (e.g. MultiTeq, Pony Medal) run smaller than Small. On EquiFit's own chart the XX-Large row is labelled “Extra Extra Large.”

The EquiFit Luxe Open Front Boot offers a refined protective profile with a clean finish and close fit.

It pairs a polished outer shell with a removable T-Foam™ liner for cushioning and an easy, low-profile feel.

Fit, compatibility & care

  • Fit: Choose the size and configuration that best match the horse’s leg shape and build.
  • Compatibility: Select the boot size and configuration that match the horse and intended use. Replacement T-Foam liners should be matched to the correct boot model and size.
