EquiFit Front Boot Size Guide

Measuring your horse's front ankle circumference is the most accurate way to size EquiFit boots. If your horse is between sizes, the ankle circumference measurement takes priority over height.

SizeHorse TypeHeight (hands)Ankle Circumference
SmallLarge Pony14.0–14.310"–10.75"
MediumSmall Horse15.0–15.310.75"–11.5"
LargeStandard16.0–16.311.5"–12.25"
Extra LargeOversize17+12.25"–13.25"
XX-LargeOversize+17+13.25"–14.25"

How to measure the ankle
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the narrowest part of the fetlock (ankle) joint, just above the point where the leg meets the hoof. Keep the tape snug but not tight, and level all the way around. Measure both front legs and use the larger reading.

Between sizes? Choose by ankle circumference first — a boot that fits the ankle protects the joint correctly. Height is a guide only.

Sizing notes: Measurements shown are EquiFit's published front-boot ranges. This chart covers front boots and front-boot replacement liners. Pony-size boots (e.g. MultiTeq, Pony Medal) run smaller than Small. On EquiFit's own chart the XX-Large row is labelled “Extra Extra Large.”

The EquiFit D-Teq Pro2V Open Front Boot pairs D-Teq protection with a hook-and-loop closure system featuring two straps with D-rings and rollers for adjustability.

Its removable ImpacTeq® liner conforms to the leg for support and impact protection, while the molded shell helps disperse shock and relieve pressure points.

Best for

  • Riders who prefer a hook-and-loop closure with fine adjustability
  • A secure, customizable fit over the cannon and tendon area
  • ImpacTeq liner comfort from schooling through competition

Key features

  • Anatomically molded shell — built to absorb shock, disperse impact, and help relieve pressure points.
  • Hook-and-loop closure — two straps with D-rings and rollers for adjustability.
  • ImpacTeq® liners — removable liners that conform to the leg for support and impact protection.
  • Machine-washable liners — practical care for regular use.

Fit, compatibility & care

  • Fit: Choose the size and configuration that best match the horse’s leg shape and build.
  • Compatibility: Select the boot size, orientation, and liner option that match the horse and intended use. Replacement liners should be matched to the correct boot model, size, and orientation.
  • Care: Remove dirt and debris after use. Removable liners may be machine washed; allow shell and liners to dry fully before storing.
