EquiFit Hind Boot Size Guide

Measuring your horse's hind ankle circumference is the most accurate way to size EquiFit hind boots. If your horse is between sizes, the ankle circumference measurement takes priority over height.

SmallLarge Pony14.0–14.310.5"–11.25"
MediumSmall Horse15.0–15.311.25"–12"
LargeStandard16.0–16.312"–13"
Extra LargeOversize17+13"–14"
XX-LargeOversize+17+14"–15"

How to measure the ankle
Wrap a soft measuring tape around the narrowest part of the fetlock (ankle) joint, just above the point where the leg meets the hoof. Keep the tape snug but not tight, and level all the way around. Measure both hind legs and use the larger reading.

Between sizes? Choose by ankle circumference first — a boot that fits the ankle protects the joint correctly. Height is a guide only.

Sizing notes: Measurements shown are EquiFit's published hind-boot ranges. This chart covers hind boots and hind-boot replacement liners. Pony-size boots (e.g. MultiTeq, Pony Medal) run smaller than Small. On EquiFit's own chart the XX-Large row is labelled “Extra Extra Large.”

The EquiFit One-S Hind Boot is a simplified hind-leg protection option designed around a one-size Full fit.

It is useful for programs that want straightforward stocking and repeatable hind-boot use without managing a full size run.

Best for

  • Barns that want simplified one-size hind protection
  • Horses that fit comfortably within the Full range
  • Easy stocking and repeatable use

Key features

  • One-size design — simplified fit for horses that work within the Full-size range.
  • Protective hind profile — shields the fetlock and lower cannon.
  • Simplified barn use — easy to stock and rotate where one-size coverage is appropriate.

Fit, compatibility & care

  • Fit: Choose the configuration that best matches the horse’s leg shape and build within the Full range.
  • Compatibility: Confirm the horse fits the one-size Full range before use.
  • Care: Remove dirt and debris after use; allow boots to dry fully before storing.
